We implement transport policies and delivery of transport investment programmes. This includes the management, maintenance and improvement of the trunk road and motorway network in Wales the client management role of the Wales and Borders Rail Franchise and delivery of rail infrastructure projects the implementation of a range of initiatives and grant schemes designed to improve transport services within Wales. The role of the Welsh Assembly Government is to exercise functions devolved to it in order to: make decisions on matters which affect people’s daily lives; develop and implement policy; make subordinate legislation eg regulations and statutory guidance and propose Assembly Measures Welsh laws.
